Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Sleep Related Breathing Disorder?
Sleep Related Breathing Disorders (SRBD) is a general term used to describe a variety of night-time breathing disorders. These breathing disorders range from habitual snoring to upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

SRBDs disrupt normal breathing patterns during sleep, often leading to poor sleep quality, excessive daytime sleepiness and may cause stress to vital organs in your body.
Are you at risk for a Sleep Related Breathing Disorder?

  1. Do your snore?
  2. Have you experienced difficulty breathing at night?
  3. Do you fall asleep easily or have unintentional nap episodes during the day?
  4. Do you feel unrefreshed when you wake up?
  5. Do you have a headache when you wake up in the morning?
  6. Do you have trouble falling and staying asleep?

If you answered yes to two or more of these questions, you may be suffering from a sleep related breathing disorder (SRBD). We recommend you discuss these symptoms with your physician.

An overnight sleep study may be beneficial in determining an accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
